چکیده

Abstract Background and Aims The management of complications arteriovenous fistula (AVF) for hemodialysis, principally stenosis, remains a major challenge clinicians with substantial impact on health resources. Stenosis not infrequently preludes to thrombotic events the loss AVF functionality. A frequent monitoring physical examination is at basis an appropriate clinical care. It includes regular inspection, palpation auscultation arm. normally functioning AVF, when listened by stethoscope, has continuous systolic-diastolic low-frequency murmur while stenosis frequency increases duration diastolic component decreases, disappearing in severe stenosis. These evidences are strictly subjective dependent from operator skill experience. New generation digital stethoscopes able record sound subsequently dedicated software allows extract quantitative variables (amplitude frequency) that characterize absolutely objective repeatable way. aim our study was analyze listenable AVFs taken commercial stethoscope investigate potentiality develop new system detect Method Between September 2022 January 2023, we screened forty-eight patients two hemodialysis centers Catanzaro (Italy). Patients were blinded experienced examiners recognized criteria doppler ultrasound (DUS). Effect of Mirror Therapy on Arteriovenous Fistula Cannulation-Related Pain Severity in Hemodialysis Patients

Background: Hemodialysis patients experience pains induced by cannulation of an arteriovenous (AV) fistula. The effect of mirror therapy on patients’ pain severity has not been investigated in individuals living with hemodialysis. Aim: The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of mirror therapy on AV fistula cannulation-related pain s...

Data Mining Performance in Identifying the Risk Factors of Early Arteriovenous Fistula Failure in Hemodialysis Patients

Background and Objectives: Arteriovenous fistula is a popular vascular access method for surgical treatment of hemodialysis patients. The method, however, is associated with a high rate of early failure varying in the range of 20-60%. Predicting early Arteriovenous fistula failure and its risk factors can help reduce its incidence, its hospitalization rate, and associated costs. In this study, ...

Arteriovenous Fistula Recirculation in Hemodialysis

Recently, with great interest we read the review article by Zeraati et al. entitled “A review article: access recirculation among end stage renal disease patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis” in your most valuable journal (1). The author summarized some of observations about causes and clinical significance of arteriovenous (AV) fistula recirculation, techniques for accurate assessment ...

Candidate gene analysis of arteriovenous fistula failure in hemodialysis patients.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Arteriovenous fistula (AVF) failure remains an important cause of morbidity in hemodialysis patients. The exact underlying mechanisms responsible for AVF failure are unknown but processes like proliferation, inflammation, vascular remodeling, and thrombosis are thought to be involved. The current objective was to investigate the association between AVF failure and sing...

Duplex sonography of arteriovenous fistula in chronic hemodialysis patients.

Duplex sonography was used to assess functional features of arteriovenous fistula (AVF) for hemodialysis (HD). Internal diameter (ID), resistance index (RI) and blood flow (BF) velocity in feeding artery and in vein ofAVF, and venous BF volume were analyzed with purpose to determine the normal values. Presumed normal BF velocities are those of clinically well functioning shunts, allowing BF thr...
